We make SIZING easy!
We tested harnesses by species and, accordingly, developed species-specific harnesses.  So if you choose a harness according to species, the harness should fit; but if it doesn’t, we will send out a custom-sized harness specifically for your bird. If fitted properly and undamaged, this harness should be comfortable and ESCAPE PROOF
The sizes are based on experience and testing;
however, bird species vary greatly in shape and size.  If you are concerned about the proper sizing, please feel free to consult with us about appropriate sizes for your bird type.
FIT WARRANTY:
Avianweb is dedicated to PERFECT FIT and maintain a FIT WARRANTY. If a harness does not fit a pet well, we will work with you to make any adjustments to assure comfortable and secure fit.
This bird harness protects the delicate keel-shaped sternum (chest bone)
and distributes any force evenly over the harness vest. The vest is lined with a soft cotton layer. The outer layer is strong and chew-resistant.
There are several different options for attaching the leash to the harness (described in the instructions that come with the harness & leash) – including one without the use of hardware, which reduces the weight for smaller birds. Parts can be bought separately at a later stage. Bird owners don’t have to buy an entire set if only part of the set needs to be replaced. For the safety of our pet birds, we recommend thorough testing of the harness and constant supervision of their outdoors.

Intuitive Design:
Once your pet is trained, the EZ bird harness is easy to put on: The harness is fitted over the neck; the abdomen belt closes up on the back. A D-Ring (for the leash) automatically slides from the front to the back as a bird is moving around eliminating SUDDEN IMPACT

The heavy-duty faux leather vest is made out of PVC-free Polyurethane and a comfortable Cotton Fleece backing. Unlike nearly all faux leathers, this material breathes just like genuine leather; it feels like leather, and is easy to maintain (simply wipe to clean)
Vest / Small Bird Harnesses:
Small harnesses (up to the size of cockatiels) are all made from faux leather.
Vest / Larger Bird Harnesses:
Neckline is made out the strongest nylon webbing – with a breaking strength of up to 2000 pounds.
Ultrasonic Welding:
The webbing and some of the components are bonded together using a high-tech ultrasonic welding technique – which eliminates the need for sewing (and the danger of threads) and some hardware.
Leash:
The light, yet strong elastic cord is resistant to abrasion, mildew & UV sunlight.The stretchy cord can stretch up to TWICE its length. A Frustration-free Leash Handle helps avoid entanglement of the bird leash
For the safety of your pet,
please DO NOT FORCE the harness on a pet bird, which is likely to result in a STRESSED AND PANICKED BIRD that will fight to get out of the harness and that could result in injury. A pet bird needs to be properly introduced to the harness and TRAINED to VOLUNTARILY put its head through the head loop, and willingly allow its owner to close the abdomen belt up! Once a pet bird is trained on the harness, it will look forward to wearing the harness as it will associate it with GOING OUTSIDE and having fun. PLEASE FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS! That is the secret of success!

*. Any materials that we use on our Avianweb Harnesses are strong and of the best quality we could source, but parrots have POWERFUL beaks that can chew through hard nut shells and even wood. So if given enough time, they will chew through any fabric and webbing on the market.

BEFORE BUYING please consider –
Is your pet HARNESS-TRAINABLE?
YES:
Your bird loves to be handled; and loves to be with you;
AND
You already trained your pet some tricks.  If you put in the time to teach your pets tricks or modify undesirable behavior, harness-training should be a breeze … You know what to do and you understand that you need to take it slowly.
NO:
If your pet bites and/or doesn’t like to be handled, your pet would not be harness-trainable at this point.  However, most birds can be tamed and trained.  It just takes time and patience. It may be best for you to wait until your pet doesn’t mind being handled.
If your pet has never been harness-trained, we recommend clicker training to appropriately train your bird prior to putting on the harness.   Clicker Training provides structured positive reinforcement and will lead to successful harness training, as well as teaching of tricks and preferred behaviors.
Are YOU (the owner) patient enough to properly introduce the harness to your pet and undergo harness training?  Most harness training fails because owners force the harness on their pets, which then results in a stressed, possibly injured bird.
